Subsidised Training Through Smart and Skilled Funding
AISIT achieved NSW recognition as a quality training provider by gaining access to subsidised training support through the NSW Smart and Skilled Targeted Priorities Prevocational and Partial Qualifications (TPPPQ) Program. This training is subsidised by the NSW Government.
This allows AISIT to customise a suite of training skills to enable your employees to gain the immediate skills they need.
Through the TPPPQ Program*, AISIT can customise accredited training that addresses the skill needs of your:
- new recruits/starters, including trainees, and/or
- existing employees.
*Access to subsidised training support is not guaranteed and subject to approval by the NSW Department of Education and funding availability.
Pathways
In some instances, it is easier to train your employees incrementally by building their skills, knowledge, and competency through completing skill bundles of related and relevant units of competency, which match your employees’ needs. It is a great way to achieve a full qualification over time.
If this is preferred, your employees may be eligible for subsidised places through the NSW Smart and Skilled TPPPQ Program.*
Short Skill Bundles
Where you are seeking to skill your employees through one of our accredited bundles, AISIT will check the eligibility of your employees for a subsidised NSW Smart and Skilled place, specifically that they:
- live or work in NSW or an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student who does not live or work in NSW but lives in specific defined interstate NSW border areas, and
- are an Australian citizen or a permanent Australian resident or a New Zealand citizen, or a humanitarian visa holder or a partner visa holder whose sponsor is a
- humanitarian visa holder and
- are aged 15 years or older, and
- are no longer in secondary education – except for registered home school students.
Traineeships
Where you are seeking to support the skilling of a new entrant trainee through one of our short and accredited bundles or a full qualification, the individual must have an approved Training Contract in NSW.
AISIT offers competitive fee-for-service prices for full qualification courses supporting trainees. These can be offset by Commonwealth and State employer incentives available for entry level traineeships. This is an employer available incentive.
Part/Full Qualifications
Where students are not eligible to receive subsidised training through Smart and Skilled funding for a short course starter bundle, AISIT offers all-inclusive and competitive fee-for-service prices for its part qualification bundles and full qualification courses.
Eligibility for a NSW Government Subsidised Training Place
AISIT has in place a stringent and fair application and enrolment process for its student selection (refer to AISIT’s Application and Enrolment Policy and Procedure). AISIT will check the eligibility of your employees for a subsidised NSW Smart and Skilled place, specifically that they:

- are an Australian citizen or a permanent Australian resident or a New Zealand citizen, or a humanitarian visa holder or a partner visa holder whose sponsor is a
- humanitarian visa holder and
- are aged 15 years or older, and
- are no longer in secondary education – except for registered home school students.
In addition to these requirements, applicants seeking a NSW subsidised training place are required to:
- provide their Unique Student Identifier,
- submit identification documentation,
- accept and sign a Training Plan, and
- sign a Student Consent to Use and Disclosure of Personal Information Form.
AISIT cannot guarantee a subsidised training place for any employee which is subject to the approval of the NSW Department of Education. Only after Departmental verification of the individual’s application through its Notification of Enrolment process, the individual will receive an Enrolment Agreement which confirms the subsidised training place.
Further information of the application process for a Smart and Skilled subsidised training place is available in AISIT’s Application and Enrolment Policy and Procedure.
Recognition of Previous Skills and Experiences
As part of the application and enrolment process, AISIT will also check for all applicant’s prior studies and learning for the purposes of recognition in the selected course, in line with our Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning Policy and Procedure.
