Workplace Investigations
About this course
Abiding by a strong code of conduct in the workplace is vital for creating an equitable work environment. Organisational ethics should link directly with your mission and vision, and employees should feel comfortable and empowered in following your code of conduct. A key for all employees who undertake code of conduct investigations is to understand the principles of investigation relating to code of conduct matters.
AISIT delivers tailored, flexible training programs designed to meet the needs of businesses, organisations and government agencies across Australia.
This course is offered exclusively as in-house group or team training, providing organisations with the flexibility to arrange training for their staff and tailor the delivery to their workplace, team and learning objectives.
This non-accredited short course is designed to grow your understanding of:
- Your obligations as an investigator
- The importance of maintaining integrity in the investigation process
- Understanding legal principles as they relate to code of conduct investigations
- Receiving and triaging a complaint
- Reporting obligations to oversight bodies
- Notetaking
- Conducting an interview with a complainant/witness
- Writing allegation letters
- Conducting an interview with a person subject of an allegation
- Analysis and assessment of evidence
- Report writing
- Making a finding
Course Information
Prior to being accepted for this course:
- You must be employed by a client of AISIT, for whom this course will be delivered as part of your professional development.
- You must be over 18 years of age.
This course is delivered over 2 consecutive days.
Face to Face Training
Learning is undertaken through a combination of theory and practical activity using scenarios.
Learning activities are completed during the face-to-face training sessions in a class setting bringing together learners and trainers, creating a highly interactive and dynamic training environment.
All our classes are capped at levels to ensure we provide the best possible student experience. Where necessary we provide additional trainers to support learning activities.
Non-Accredited Training
Upon the successful completion of all learning activities, AISIT will issue a Certificate of Completion.
This course is designed for professionals who are responsible for managing or conducting workplace and code of conduct investigations within their organisation.
It is particularly suited to managers, supervisors, human resources and people and culture professionals, workplace investigators and other personnel who may be required to assess complaints, conduct interviews, analyse evidence and make findings in relation to workplace matters.
The course is offered exclusively as in-house training for groups and teams within government agencies and other eligible organisations across Australia. Minimum participant numbers apply.
