About this course
This skill set is for individuals working in a range of regulatory work environments involving gathering evidence and interviewing persons of interest. These competencies provide skills required to identify possible non-compliance and plan, initiate and report on a subsequent investigation.
AISIT has delivered this course as an in-house program to organisations across Australia.
This course is currently offered as group or team training.
Overview of the Course:
The PSPSS00040 Government Investigations Skills Set is comprised of the following Units of Competency:
- PSPINV001 Plan and initiate an investigation
- PSPINV004 Conduct an investigation
- PSPINV003 Finalise an investigation
What you will learn:
- identify and confirm possible non-compliance
- plan and initiate a subsequent investigation
- planning and activating evidence collection
- conduct an investigation under commonwealth and/or jurisdictional law
- identifying witnesses and persons of interest
- reviewing and reporting on progress and briefing/debriefing relevant personnel
- finalising the investigation
- handling complaints and appeals
- preparing an investigation report and using investigation outcomes
Course Information
Prior to being accepted for this course:
- You will be required to complete a Pre-Training Review at a satisfactory level.
- You must be employed by a client of AISIT, for whom this course will be delivered as part of your professional development.
- You must be over 18 years of age.
This course is delivered over 2 consecutive days.
Face to Face Training
Assessment is undertaken through a combination of theory and practical activity using scenarios.
Learning and assessment tasks are completed during the face-to-face training sessions in a class setting bringing together learners and trainers, creating a highly interactive and dynamic training environment.
All our classes are capped at levels to ensure we provide the best possible student experience. Where necessary we provide additional trainers to support learning activities.
Online Training
Online learning consists of e-learning and live webinars conducted by our trainers and assessors.
Assessment is a combination of online knowledge-based multiple choice and short answer questions and workplace-based assessment.
All learning materials are accessed through our dynamic cloud-based online e-learning platform via your PC or mobile App.
Accredited Training
Upon the successful completion of all learning activities, and associated assessments for this course, you will be awarded a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the following units of competency:
- PSPINV001 Conduct and investigation
- PSPINV002 Plan and initiate an investigation
- PSPINV003 Finalise an investigation
This unit of competency may be credited towards the following nationally recognised training qualification, which is offered by AISIT:
- PSP40416 Certificate IV in Government Investigations
This course can also articulate into various Certificate III and Certificate IV nationally recognised training qualifications.
